Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant
BornFree Wellness Centers of America is looking for an innovative dynamic individual to join a brand new wellness clinic that provides behavioral health, and opioid dependence treatment. We are outcomes driven and have a strong focus on the holistic well-being of the patient. We have been watching the heroin epidemic grow in Maryland and around the nation, and we are motivated to provide patient centered services that will make a difference. Description
The NP or PA will be responsible for carrying out the physician’s orders regarding administration of medications - Methadone, Suboxone or Subutex. This individual is also responsible for the completeness of all medical aspects of the medical record – including any paper documentation and all entries into the electronic health record system. This is part-time position and will require 25 - 30 hours /week commitment with excellent compensation. Candidate must be able to work early morning hours 5am-10am and available to work some Sundays 7am – 10am. Additionally, candidates must be able to pass a credit check, background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

Ensure that appropriate laboratory studies have been performed and reviewed, as needed.

Ensure that a medical evaluation, including a medical history and physical examination, has been performed at admission and annually.

Completes physical examinations, procedures lab specimens and records the results of the test, presents medical forms for the clinic physician’s evaluation, consultation, and signature.

Ensure that evidence of current physiologic dependence, length of history of addiction, or exceptions to criteria for admission are documented in the patient's record before the patient receives the initial methadone dose.

Work with clinical and other medical providers.

Assists patients in referral services for other medical issues (co-occurring illnesses) and other medical needs.

Continuous quality improvement (conduct in-service & patient education).

Coordinates care with clinical and medical staff.

Ensures our orders comply with State Regulations and HIPAA Standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

Current DEA License is preferred.

1 year experience in medication assisted treatment in an opiate treatment setting is preferred.

CPR certified within 3 months of hire.

Must pass a criminal background check.

Education Requirements for NP
-
Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university

Completion of a Nurse Practitioner program specific to the expanded specialty of Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is preferred.

Licensed with the state of Maryland as CRNP.
Education Requirements for PA
-
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant school.

Possess a valid Maryland Physician Assistant License.

1-year clinical experience in Addiction Medicine is preferred.
