A Convenient Buprenorphine Implant Is Now Available

Hello Readers,

We hope this post finds you in uplifted spirits and making better use of your time. Yes, I say that because there is a way precisely to do that: use your time in tons of creative healthy activities.

How many times have we found ourselves struggling with remembering to take our daily dosage, sitting in traffic for our daily dose rituals, misplacing the medicine, or perhaps even dealing with meds being stolen?

Well, you may or may not have heard about a cutting edge suboxone treatment that can reduce your stress levels on a daily basis by providing an automatic dosage of the prescribed medicine, right from the comfort of your home, office or where ever you might happen to be.

FDA approved Probuphine, an implantable form of Buprenorphine, will soon be available as an alternative to a more conventional form of Medication Assisted Treatment.

Last year, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved an implantable form of buprenorphine known as Probuphine; which will only be prescribed to stable patients who have been on 8 mg per day or less of buprenorphine for three months or longer without any need for supplemental dosing or adjustments.

The implant provides six months’ worth of addiction treatment; and consists of four inch-sized rods that are implanted, by trained physicians, under the skin on the inside of the upper arm. Each rod consists of 80 mg of buprenorphine which is released at a constant, low-level dose.

The FDA required post-marketing studies in order to establish the safety and feasibility of further treatment with the implant after the initial six months of treatment. Probuphine should be used as part of a complete treatment program that includes counselling and psychosocial support.

Although Probuphine is a useful opioid addiction treatment alternative, the implants can cost more than $1000 a month. At BornFree Wellness Centers of America (BFWCoA), we bring to you increased access to addiction treatment at an affordable cost.

Expanding the use and availability of medication assisted treatment (MAT) options like Buprenorphine is an important component of the FDA’s opioid action plan and one of three top priorities of the US Department of Health and Human Services Opioid Initiatives aimed at reducing prescription opioid and heroin related overdose, death and dependence. BFWCoA works closely with the FDA and DHHS guidelines and contacts to ensure the delivery of improved quality of life for you.

So, here is to our health, willpower and freedom from the bounds of convention as we march together toward a new era of convenience and control!

Until next time!
